CCPR Centre's strategic plan for Myanmar 2021-2023

In line with its overall strategic plan (2019-2023), CCPR Centre has developed a focused strategic plan 2021-2023 for Myanmar for better protection of civil and political rights in the country. It reflects on the outcomes, achievements and lessons learnt from Centre's past and ongoing activities in Myanmar, and guides our future activities in the coming years (2021-2023) taking into account of the planned election later in 2020.

The strategic plan Myanmar 2021-2023 sets out three strategic objectives of the Centre as:

  • To strengthen and assist efforts of national civil society in Myanmar to utilise different UN HR mechanisms for the protection of civil and political rights;
  • To assist and enhance efforts of national stakeholders for the earliest ratification of ICCPR by Myanmar; and
  • To increase capacity of State actors of Myanmar for effective implementation of international HR laws.

Target actors, tactics, key activities and performance indicators are also identified for each strategic objective. For the implementation of this 3-year plan, required resource is estimated as $ 172,000 in total (annual average of $ 57,300).
