Efforts of civil society to enhance implementation of HR Committee's recommendations in follow-up to the 2nd review of Thailand

HR Committee's follow-up procedure at glance in Thai

In follow-up to the 2nd review of Thailand by the HR Committee (March 2017), the CCPR Centre organised a visit to Thailand with a HR Committee member in February 2018 (see the link on the right side of this page). Efforts have been made by both State and civil society actors in Thailand since the review as well as the visit to enhance implementation of the Committee's recommendations.

The Centre has been in touch with those actors at the national level to assist their work and initiatives. The State follow-up report of Thailand was submitted to the Committee in July 2018, which will be evaluated by the Committee under its follow-up procedure, for which informaiton is also provided by several civil society organisations.

To assist such efforts at the national level, CCPR Centre has also produced a briefing note on the Committee's follow-up procedure, both in English and Thai as well as unofficial translation of the State follow-up report of Thailand (see the links on the right side of this page). These documents should help all the stakeholders to understand and effectively utilise the follow-up procedure of the Committee for better implementation of the Committee's recommendations.
