Six new members were welcomed to the Committee: Sarah Cleveland (USA), Olivier de Frouville (France), Ivana Jelic (Montenegro), Duncan Laki Muhumuza (Uganda), Photini Pazartzis (Greece) and Mauro Politi (Italy).
The Committee elected Fabian Salvioli (Argentina) as its new Chairperson.
At the closing of the session, Mr. Salvioli announced new mandate holders: Sarah Cleveland as the Follow-up Rapporteur on Concluding Observations, Yadh Ben Achour (Tunisia) as Deputy Rapporteur, Victor Manuel Rodriguez-Rescia (Costa-Rica) as the Follow-up Rapporteur on Communications, Sir Nigel Rodley (United Kingdom) and Yuval Shany (Israel) as the Special Rapporteurs on Communications and Interim-Measures, and Ahmad Amin Fathalla (Egypt) as the Rapporteur on Reprisals.
